Latest trend in diet
In between the ever increasing trend to get the perfect beach body during the summer and the ever excessive need to develop healthy eating habits for a healthier life, the recent years have brought about an ever increasing wave of new trends in diets to meet the needs of different people for different purposes. Although the list is very long, the most popular and effective ones are ketogenic diet, Peleo diet and the weight watchers.
Kitogenic diet is a low carb and high fat diet that focuses on weight loss. On this diet, your calorie breakdown looks like this: 70-75% fat, 20-25% protein, and 5-10% carbs. The concept behind the low carb, high fat is that when you eat carbs, your body produces insulin that causes fat cells to be stored in the body. When you switch to low-carb, you lower insulin levels and enter ketosis, which lets fat cells release stored water and then be burned as fuel. On the other hand the Peleo diet is based on the diet of humans in a time before harvesting grains or before any artificial flavours etc. The focus food are meats, seafood, vegetables, low-sugar fruits, most nuts, and healthy oils. People have reported increase in lean body mass and increasing in metabolism and energy. Lastly, the Weight Watchers is the most progressive and all inclusive diet found in around 30 countries around the globe. It focuses on weight loss through exercise and healthy eating habits with controlled portions. The best part about it is that no food is off limits. The goal is for an individual to gain control of healthy eating habits.
Aside from the above mentioned diets other latest trends in diet include the Atkins, Intermittent Fasting, OMAD, MIND diet and many more which focus on one thing in all together that is healthy eating habits and possibly weight loss through a general calorie decifit. The way might be different but the goals is the same.
